Philadelphia Attorneys: Media Investigations
Vaira & Riley, a firm that has extensive experience conducting sophisticated white-collar investigations, also offers a confidential service to help news organizations respond quickly to attacks on their accuracy, integrity and credibility. Our firm has joined forces with a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and a formal federal agent to serve you.
We specialize in the discreet and thorough analysis of allegations of plagiarism, complaints of fabrication, conflicts of interest and other ethical issues. Senior partner Peter Vaira works with Dick Cooper, who won a Pulitzer Prize for coverage of the Attica Prison Riot and spent 36 years as a reporter, editor and manager, most of them at The Philadelphia Inquirer. Mr. Cooper now runs a media consulting, writing and editing firm. Our other team member is Philip S. Deming, a former special agent with the U.S. Treasury Department who is a principal in a human resource and risk management consulting firm. He has conducted numerous internal investigations for media companies.
Our inquiries are protected by the attorney-client privilege. We will also provide labor and human resources advice if needed. This service will not replace your regular media law firm, but we will work with that firm if litigation becomes necessary.
We will be pleased to discuss our services in person or on the telephone. We operate nationwide and will respond within hours. Contact us when your reputation is at stake.
